Name: Kyzer
Alias: Iahcodrom? The Trickster?Rank: Genetici? The Trickster?
Apparent Age: 30s?
Age: ? The best estimate is however long ago Vorbis was destroyed, or when Hammond was the brother of King Magister.
Race: ? Presumably human; however due to his longevity he may be another race. He does not register as Larthan. This gives suggestion he could be a Genetici with some ability to enhance his life span. Or, as Tsar’Lena believes, he could be the Trickster. This would explain his longevity and apparent unconnected abilities. As well as his history of mettling with everyone’s life.
Appearance
Hammond describes Kyzer as a human or half-Alfir of medium build with slender features and heavy set eyes. He has dark eyes though the priest cannot remember the exact hue. His hair is a wavy blond-brown coloration that changes slightly in the sun. As far as Hammond knows Kyzer does not have a means to disguise himself by anything save mundane means. Hammond remembers Kyzers voice to be soothing and smooth with an unusual allure to it.
History:
(Hearsay from Hammond, Alondra, Cloudskimmer and others)
Hammond met Kyzer in Torana. He journeyed with Kyzer for some time. When he learned that Kizer was seeking 'the dragon' he continued to travel with Kyzer for he too sought the Sunlit female. During their travels he discovered Kyzer intended to use the dragon for some nefarious scheme that included some piece of her as a spell component. Hammond stayed with him intending to ally with the dragon when they found her and prevent Kyzer from doing whatever his scheme was.
When Hammond first encountered him, Kyzer had an associate called Cloudskimmer. Hammond was unaware at the time that Cloudskimmer was a Scalla. He appeared to be a blond man, possibly human of tall stature. No apparent magical gifts were shown, so there was no way to tell if he was anything but a dualist.
The three of them went to Vorbis and there Kyzer, under the guise of a member of the Council, became a trusted colleague, and made many major decisions in regards to Vorbis’ fate and government. In the meantime, Cloudskimmer and Hammond explored the world. Cloudskimmer, according to Hammond, appeared to be on a mission of some kind. Cloudskimmer refuses to acknowledge or deny this.
Somehow during his stay in Vorbis, he connected with Alondra. She became his agent, and in her version of the story, they fell in love. Alondra even suggested a daughter from their relationship. Kyzer has nothing to say about this because he has not been questions.
Eventually, due to Kyzer’s status, he convinced the Council that closets of infinite space combined with purses of unlimited capacity would be compatible, and no harm would come to the residents if they were combined. Despite the Alfir’s predictions, the humans ignored the warnings, causing Kyzer to be instrumental to the destruction of Vorbis. A thing Rylian will never forgive him for doing.
During the planet’s destruction of Vorbis, Kyzer and the other three (according to Alondra’s confession, he refused to abandon her) had a means of escape, which he used on both Hammond and himself. They lingered just long enough to watch it destroyed. During the aftermath, Kyzer collected dust from the debris - a component of the spell that he claimed would ‘sink Trias’. Later interpretations suggest it could be ‘sync Trias’ - due to the awkwardness of the humans’ tongue - however, the Company presumed Kyzer meant to destroy the continent / island.
After the destruction of Vorbis occurred, Hammond could not justify traveling with someone who was simply pure evil. He turned on Kyzer and they fought, Kyzer escaped. Cloudskimmer and Alondra stayed with Kyzer.
Hammond pursued him through a fog bank and found himself in the moors of Morent. They fought again in a temple, and Kizer captured Hammond, trapping his body and soul in two different locations until the Company rescued him.
Marcus, the barkeep in Buttonwillow described Kyzer as traveling with a red-headed woman (Alondra later confirmed that it was her) who passed through Buttonwillow about a week before the Company arrived. They were traveling north. The red-haired companion and Alondra were seen in the same place at the same time. Alondra confessed that this was a ruse, the ‘red haired woman’ was an illusion placed to distract the Company to cause them to believe there were two red heads of similar build in town.
From the information received by Ophelia and Mordochai, it appears that Kiyzer has been orchestrating a rather complex campaign to further Mordochai's reputation as a "bad guy". According to Mordochai, it was Kyzer who burned the children's village. If this revelation is true then Kizer also orchestrated the bandits to lay siege upon Buttonwillow, and was the one who kidnapped Alondra from Buttonwillow.
After some extensive focus, Marin managed to 'recall' memories from one of his Soul Golems about Kyzer. Alondra worked with Kyzer willingly. They had a child together (a daughter?); however he does not know what happened to the child. For all that he can remember it appears Alondra was happy with Kyzer and by no means coerced into assisting him.
When the Company returned from the Dream, they finally caught up to Kyzer. After two false leads and several leagues of chasing, the Company ultimately caught up to Kyzer in a clearing not far from the Isharum Pass. The final battle ensued there, resulting in the defeat of Kyzer. Due to Tsar'Lena's "Wild Surge" enchantment, Kyzer is currently living out his days as a hunk of amethyst.
Whether or not he still retains his intellect or if he can be returned to his original form are impossible to say.
His Plan
According to Hammond, Kyzer intends to sink Trias into the Básteev and Another Oceans. He needs components to do this. Though Hammond is unsure why, he believes it has something to do with Kyzer's desire to rule the Planet of Legends.
The components that Hammond heard about are:
Dust from a destroyed dimension [Voorbis' remains]
The Tome of Time (It is unknown if he managed to get the spell he needed from this book prior to Tsar'Lena taking if from him.)
Griffin feathers [He has Razorbeak's]
Four scales of a dragon (preferably Sunlit or Moonlit).
A pocket watch. (The Company encountered a creature called 'Pocket Watch'. Cloudskimmer has since taken him/it to ... "somewhere safe")
Other Information
Due to more extensive research and the realization Kyzer meant to 'sync' Trias instead of 'sink' it, other possibilities have occurred about his plan. Tsar'Lena managed to find the ritual Kyzer intended to use to perform these feat. Unfortunately, due to his rather sudden transformation, the true intent of his plan remains a mystery.
