First appearance: Orphan Quest
Name: Sir Kinetic Energy Milrona, of the Mena Tun’ecord Sinallan Gârenrâ and the Dragon Knights, Daryndel of Castle Lightpool.
Other names: Kinet
Age: Unknown
Apparent Age: 12
Position: Mena Tun’ecord Sinallan Gârenrâ and the Dragon Knights, Daryndel of Castle Lightpool. Historian. Scribe of Illynallah.
Appearance:
The apparition seems but a human child to eyes untrained in magic. However, those who possess the ability arcane, a glow of sapphirine hue resides lightly around the boy. Mayhap his physical age at oldest tis twelve; however the eyes of emerald hue, their cat-like irises outlined in yellow prove strong evidence this youth is older than his countenance portents. Under these knowledge-filled eyes a scar ruins the freckled-face. Running horizontally across the bridge of his nose to its end point below his left eye. Unruly the locks of light brown art as they flutter in the breeze caused by movement of feline grace.
Traveler's clothes cover the slender frame, arms still a child's width mayhap cause a pause to wonder if the fine sword strapped to his side can e'en be lifted by one such as he. Dark blue the under shirt, lighter blue and silver the tunic. Brown trews end in black boots, their fur lining obvious.
Upon his left wrist he wears a metal band, shackle wide. However, tis wrought with carvings and runes and within the center a light-catching gem is embedded. This gem changes color at various times, though if there is meaning behind these changes tis not easily revealed or deciphered on casual observation.
He wears an iron gauntlet on his right hand. It covers his arm from fingertip to elbow and appears to be too big for his slender frame. However, the gauntlet does not hamper his movements or decreasing his agility in any manner.
Personality:
Enigmatic as he is silent, his quiet ways and genteel mannerisms disconcert many. Yet smile and silent laughter quick make friends of who would bare animosity. Aspects of chivalry personified drape his shoulders, mantel of a code and behavior forgotten by most.
He attempts with great effort to communicate yet it is with difficulty as so few understand the gestures both elaborate and simple he produces. Were any aware of the language he used, then they could with ease interpret these flutters of hand, fingers and wrists.
Always in motion, e'en while he stand still there is some part of him that twitches and shifts. His eyes do not waver away from those he looks upon. Yet his body language suggests he is impatient or always agitated if for the mere reason he has many a shiver and pulse.
He is oft seen with a great Book on his person. When sitting still, he will pull forth this book and write notes in it. The book itself is written in the common tongue. Though when he writes in it the book is halfway through, it appears to ne'er run out of pages.
History:
The length and berth of the history would not bore any who read it, for many are the years strung together to make the tales of the past for this knight and Daryndel. Know instead from beginning to end many lands have the short legs traversed, and dimensions not meant to be visited by mortals. Now scribing the stories of the world, he journeys and listens to all who would tell their tale. (See the Bookworld Series).
Rumors of royal origin has he, kin to the Ageless Lady Joeanne of Castle Lightpool, within the realm of Trias far across the Básteev Ocean. Deeds of castle awakenings, dragon subduing, lost loves, dream realms and witch's curses surround or precede him.
One tale stands out among the rest - the tale of the White Dragon of Ages Past, for here stands one of the four companions that brought back unto the land and made whole the statue so awoke the White Dragon that it might cast its protective gaze upon Trias again. Rumors too abound of his knowledge of the Sundowner's library, supposed lost in the scope of time. The Library is meant to contain every book written, tis said Kinet knows the location of this wondrous place.
Those who know of his tale and reputation will recall word-of-mouth descriptions of the warrior that does not age who seeks to write down the histories and legends of the land. Now from one place to another he goes, occasionally accompanied by his companions from old, yet always with quill he ventures to realms meaning to learn of their culture, their people and scribble them into the tomes of Lore.
During their last foray into the Dream that Kinet gained the position of Sage of Illynallah.
Known Abilities:
Though at a myriad of implements of war, including sword and shield, bow, cross-bow and axe, his greatest physical talents lay with the pen and not the blade. Scholar and poet, he scrawls the tales that any tell him (with permission) for his esteem dictates all tales bare repeating.
Of the less mundane nature, tis said he can speak with animals, though no 'language' pass from his lips. Utterance from beast and bird yet none of human or any other known race does he speak. Tis nigh impossible to read his mind, for naught but shifting sounds and apparent aimless noises does e'en the most trained mentalist receive.
Too this keen fact presents a quandary to any who seek to do him harm - t'would seem to blow and blade, spell or spiritual strike, he is immune. Thus far none have succeeded in doing injury to him, yet injury he must be able to sustain lest the scar upon his face bare false witness to its owner.
Recent has he displayed an knack for shifting energy. While he does not repel the energy the appearance is that he takes it to himself after it is drawn out of the caster's chant. The effects of most abilities are minimal, as already mentioned, yet those that are directly energy based are siphoned through him to somewhere unknown, passing from hand through body and apparently to ground without harming him. In plain words when he is hit or targeted by some kind of energy, he forces it to dissipate and casts it away from him.
No other unusual features embrace the boy save to those who can see magic, as mentioned above. Sight-of-true-form reveals naught but the boy's already visible physical appearance.
Family:

Other Notes: He registers as Larthan.
Animal Companions: One saffron pygmy drase and a mare of amber hue. He has a blue pygmy drase (Queesa); however Queesa is currently with King Uther. She is known to teleport.
