HISTORY
Alistair Macduff was born in Aberdeen, where he spent his childhood helping his father catch cod in great shoals; but his brilliant mind strongly desired to get something more out of life than gutting fish. At the age of 18 he went to study at Oxford, where he majored in linguistics and minored in classical literature. It was during his time in college that he discovered that he had a passion for acting. By the time he graduated he was already in the process of joining the Royal Shakespeare company, with which he spent a good number of years as a supporting cast member. Roles under his belt included Polonius, and Metrucio.
It was his portrayal of Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream that changed his career forever. A director from hollywood happened to be sitting in the audience of the Globe Theatre that night, and he decided to cast Alistair as Firian in Arrows of Passion, the story of an elven gentleman-thief. The film was a blockbuster, spawning two sequels and a video game series. Between shooting films, he still enjoyed performing on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, but his dream of playing Hamlet has yet to be fulfilled. He continued to reprise the role of Firian on various television series based in the same “universe” as the Arrows of Passion films, and he also portrayed various villains and helpful characters in different episodes.
He even had a brief appearance on Doctor Who as Orson Wells. His most recent role is that of Rylian, an Alfir wizard who aids the great hero Elias on his quest to rescue Princess Ophelia from the clutches of the evil Mordochai. Despite feeling typecast as an Alfir once more, he feels at home playing a smart character.
