(This information only pertains to his current life)
Name: Peter Terrobihn-Knight
Aliases: Kar'nas, The Sundowner
Rank: The Sundowner
Age: Unknown
Apparent Age: Early 20s.
Race: Unknown - Larthan
Appearance:
Dark brown hair and brown eyes mark him as an almost nondescript person. He is the type of person who blends into a crowd without trying. It is only when one is close enough to see the depths of his eyes does the gold show through.
Though average build and height, his muscled arms suggest he can wield a sword or other melee weapon with at least some accuracy and power. His movements give the unusual suggestion of a dancer or tight-rope walker, balanced and assured with the easy grace and natural agility of a gymnast.
His tenor voice had a peculiar accent, one the others were used to hearing now but still retained the quality of intrigue. Traveled far and wide as the various companions were, no one could place the origins of Peter's dialect. Hints of regal tone suggested royalty in his heritage yet his bearing and easy manner among soldiers and common-folk gave a different story - one of a well seasoned fighter and pioneer. No matter his characteristics, his elusive wordings added one more enigma to the man with the fragmented memory.
Personality:
Though friendly and forth-right, there is an air of uncertainty about him, as though he seeks something. Perhaps this is not far from the truth, for his near complete lack of memories is enough to unnerve even the most stout hearted. Though he has read the entire personal volume that Flora gained from the Sundowner's Library, the words therein have no more meaning to him than a book of facts.
Recently his words have taken on a more serious tone as memories flitter back into his consciousness.
Known History:
His first clear memory is waking up in a clearing surrounded by corpses. Although shackles bound his ankles and wrists to a pole, suggesting he was a prisoner, he has never found a 'Wanted' poster for himself. Nor has any city or royal official demanded his arrest.
After escaping from his bonds, he went into the forest. After miles being lost, a Healer of Lyra City found him. They went together to Lyra City and there he met the Corva, Duscha. Though she offered to help him find his memories, they found nothing but shadows and fog.
From here he fell into a deep slumber, had dreams of being caught and put into slavery, and then released. When he awoke, he found himself on the coast of Gosen Bay, near Port Cawl. Living in the city for a few months, he went into Larsen's shop enough times for the tailor to recognize him when the Company encountered him.
After a vision from Bri'a proclaiming he must find 'the Maiden' and help her in her quest, he decided to journey south. There he met up with the Company. He was eager to help in the quest to revive Tsar'Lena and has been with the Company since.
Recently flashes appear to him. Fragments he does not understand and cannot explain - from times and places he has no other recollection of, merely frozen scenes that somehow he is positive are his memories. The more the Company travels with him, the more memories come back to him, and Rylian's recent trip to the past affected him by giving him yet another memory. That of a strange maiden who travelled with him, and a close friend of his - a maid like a sister to him....
Family: Unknown, presumably any member of the Terrobihn bloodline is related to him. In his first life his mother was Kimblain.
Other Information:
Kar'nas was named by the Company (Kar'ras specifically). On the assumption he might be the Sundowner, Kar'nas means 'the Great Flame' or 'the Bright Fire' in Kêrath.
He matches the description of the amnesic that the Company rescued from Teras City, and who was then sent off by Tsar toward Mais Tarascon with the unicorn.
